Catalytic Combustion Polishing

When transforming Catalytic Combustion's old deteriorating floor, priorities changed from style to more function. The original floors in the machine shop at Catalytic Combustion were pitted, cracked, and a hazard to the everyday work its employees had to perform. And it was only getting worse.

Polishing its original floor, Concrete Arts filled in all the cracks and joints, took the high spots down to the lows and created a monolithic level slab that makes life a whole lot easier when moving pallets and heavy machinery around. Just take a look at the transformation below. And even though function was the main priority, style was never forgotten.

Little Space, Big impact

Sometimes less really is more. In this case, a decorative stamped and colored edge added a lot to this back patio space. I loved the fact that the edging of the patio matches this duplex home perfectly which is a major benefit in stamped concrete.

Handcarving Stamped Concrete

Decorative Concrete has always been known as a work of art. These pictures below really show how concrete can be transformed by simply handcrafting the edges.

MN Twins - Target Field Polished Concrete

MN Twins Incorporate Polished Concrete at Target Field

The Legends Club Level of Target Field showcases Minnesota’s rich history of Twin Hall of Famers and the Met Club. Architects wanted a flooring option that could feature an artistic design that helped accent larger-than-life art pieces of Kirby Puckett, Harmon Killebrew, Rod Carew, and other historic Twins ballplayers. One of the many benefits to polished concrete is its ability to reflect light which aids in featuring these Hall of Famers.

With over 28,000 square feet of level 2 polished concrete, Legends Club Level displays a Blueberry and Maple Syrup design. A Blueberry path leads the way from one entrance to the other with 3 different dilution levels of Maple Syrup strips.

Polished concrete not only allows for design flexibility, but more importantly provides functionality. As one of the highest trafficked areas, Polished Concrete was chosen because of its durability and low maintenance. Over time, this flooring option will hold up better and cost less than any other flooring option.

Karvekrete

Homeowners are always searching for new things to explore when improving his or her home. One easy way to give the exterior of your home a "face lift" is to use Karvekrete. Karvekrete is a LifeTime Floors product that Concrete Arts uses for exterior plaster use. Karvkrete is meant to be hand troweled on and can be hand carved or stamped. Below is just one of the many projects we've done in the last year.

I wanted to post for everyone one of my favorite pool decks of all time. I love how we integrated booth the patio and pool deck together while using different stain options and faux saw cuts to add a unique element.

Pier 500 Countertop

A local restaurant, Pier 500, came to us with an idea to remodel its men and women's restrooms. It wanted the focal point of these to spaces to be the concrete sinks. It wanted the feel of the room to be inviting and warm with a hint of creativity and innovation. We showed them around our showroom to get a feel of what direction it would like to head with its remodel. Immediately, textures popped and innovative ideas started rolling in.

Concrete Arts created two beautiful sinks that combined two different textures. Below are a few photographs that capture the different elements that these sinks hold. Needless to say, the sinks are fun and creative but it also ties in colors that are very warm and inviting to create a very comfy and creative room.
